Jason Aldean Gives Hat Tip To Iconic Band With First Christmas Song

Jason Aldean dropped his first ever holiday track last Friday and there’s a reason behind the one he chose. “Christmas In Dixie” was originally released by Alabama in 1982 and they are his musical heroes.

He took to socials to explain the choice saying "The band Alabama has been really influential on my career. So, it's cool to get to give a nod to my musical heroes with the first Christmas song we've ever put out."

To keep it close to Alabama’s version, he kept the pedal steel, rhythm guitar, and stacked keyboard while adding a modern flare with an electric guitar solo and of course Aldean’s sound.

It’s not the first time Aldean has covered his favorite band. He recorded "Tennessee River" on the tribute album "Alabama & Friends" and then brought the house down with a medley of their hit songs at the 2015 ACM honors.

Meanwhile, he’s taking time off to work on a new album before hitting the road in 2023.
