Chick-fil-A Surprises Customer With Kind Gift After Dog Dies

When pediatric ICU nurse Sarah Massey learned that she was going to have to put down her 14-year-old dog Mollie, she wanted to give her best friend a great send-off. In her last days Mollie had stopped eating pretty much everything, but one thing she would eat was Chick-fil-A nuggets, so Massey hit the drive-thru to get some. When she explained who the nuggets were for, the folks at Chick-fil-A picked up the tab on Mollie’s last meal.

Massey posted a video on social media telling the story. She said how much she appreciated the gesture and tagged Chick-fil-A. Mollie was put down the next day and a few days after that, Chick-fil-A contacted Massey letting her know to keep an eye out for a package from them. And then a few weeks later, she received the package and posted a video of herself opening it.

In the box was a note from Chick-fil-A that read, “Sarah, We’re so sorry for your loss, and we are honored to have been a part of Mollie’s life. We hope this painting of her brings you comfort,” and it was signed, “Your friends at Chick-fil-A.” Before she even got into the box, Massey was crying over the kind gesture and says the painting will have a special place in her home. “I don’t know how to explain it but it was sad but it was happy at the same time,” she says. “I never expected anything like this.”
