Funeral Arrangements: Deputy Chief Chester Lauck

Deputy Chief Chester T. Lauck passed away Sunday morning at at Winchester Medical Center after working on the scene of a wildland fire in the County. His obituary may be found here.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, from 12 – 9 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, VA. Service will be Monday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at Winchester Church of God, 2080 N. Frederick Pike, Winchester, VA. Burial will be immediately following the service at Shenandoah Memorial Park, 1270 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, VA.

The processional route is as follows: Head southeast toward US-522 S Take VA-37 S to State Rte 652/Shawnee Dr Continue on State Rte 652/Shawnee Dr to your destination Turn right after 7-Eleven (on the left) Turn right onto Papermill Rd At the traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto State Rte 644. Road closings: Papermill Road from the roundabout to Front Royal Pike (Rt 522). Anticipated road closures will occur between 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Crossover Boulevard should be utilized as an alternative route during this time. People should anticipate heavy traffic in the areas around the funeral home on Sunday and the church and cemetery on Monday.
