Ticketmaster Tests New Strategy To Curb Reselling And Its High Prices

Ticketmaster is making big changes for the Olivia Rodrigo tour. Fans that scored a code to get tickets and paid for them will now not have access to the tickets until 72 hours before the show they bought them for. Ticketmaster is hoping this seriously curbs the resale market and its high prices. Their theory is, you can’t resell tickets you don’t have. The tickets will also be available electronically only, meaning it will be nearly impossible to transfer them. Any fans who were waitlisted may get an email this morning giving them a chance to buy tickets for new shows announced yesterday. Those tickets go on sale this morning.
