Is BOSE eavesdropping on you?

It looks like our privacy bubble may be getting even smaller.

The Bose audio company is being accused of secretly tracking the listening habits of its customers through its headphone and speaker app.  A class-action lawsuit filed on Tuesday accuses Bose of collecting customers' private music and audio selections through its Android and iOS application, Bose Connect.

The lawsuit also claims that Bose is sending that information to third parties, including a data-mining company in San Francisco.  The complaint says selling that information to third parties represents "a wholesale disregard for consumer privacy rights" and violates several laws including the federal Wiretap Act. The lawsuit is seeking an injunction to stop Bose from collecting and sharing the data.
