Off-Duty Nurse Sees Woman In Car Accident, Screams ‘Is She Pregnant?’

It was a horrific accident. A Salt Lake City train crashed into a car. In the vehicle was 30-year-old Ofa Kinikini. The pregnant mother was thrown from the passenger seat of the car. Just a few yards away stood Mindy Simpson, an off-duty nurse who witnessed the entire crash with her husband.

It was as if fate brought Simpson there in that moment.

“I immediately ran over and saw the driver and pulled him out. It’s hard and it’s overwhelming and feels surreal,” Simpson recalls.

That’s when she heard the driver — he was screaming for Ofa and a baby.
